Our Services

Therapy built around your child, not a fixed timetable

Every plan begins with an evidence-based assessment and a discussion of family priorities and concerns. From this, measurable goals are established using approaches supported by current research evidence. Select a service below for further detail.

We support communication development at every age, from toddlers who aren't yet talking to young adults preparing for job interviews. We also work closely with the people around your child, including parents, teachers and support workers, so progress carries over into everyday life, not just the therapy session.

We support

  • Speech sound production and clarity (how easily your child can be understood)
  • Receptive and expressive language (understanding and using language)
  • Late language emergence and early intervention (late talkers)
  • Fluency disorders (stuttering)
  • Literacy, including reading and spelling
  • Social communication and pragmatic language (social skills and back-and-forth conversation)
  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
  • Speech clarity and oral presentation skills, for older children and adolescents

Mobile & Telehealth

No clinic. No waiting room.

Real skills are best built in real environments. We bring evidence-based therapy into the home, school and community, so strategies have genuine real-life application and generalise (transfer) more quickly into everyday routines.

  • At home. The setting where most practice actually happens, with family able to take part.

  • At school or childcare. Therapy that connects to the classroom, with educators kept in the loop.

  • Online by telehealth, Australia-wide. Same clinician, same goals, no travel, wherever you are in the country.

Funding & How It Works

Straightforward funding, straightforward process

NDIS

We work with plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants. You receive an itemised invoice after every session.

(We are not an NDIS-registered provider, so this covers plan-managed and self-managed funding only, not NDIA-managed.)

Private paying

No referral, no eligibility process, no waiting on plan approvals. You receive an itemised invoice after every session.

Medicare rebate

Available with a current GP referral and Chronic Disease Management Plan (a Medicare-funded referral pathway). We'll talk you through this if it applies to you.

Note: We also accept private health insurance, ask us for details.

About Us

Evidence-based therapy, delivered with warmth

Talk & Grow was set up to bring therapy out of the clinic and into everyday life. Our clinicians are university qualified, Certified Practising, and committed to an evidence-based approach: the assessments and therapy methods we use are backed by current research, and we explain our reasoning at every step.

We're deliberately small. You work with the same clinician session after session, and when you call, you reach someone who knows your child's file.

  • Evidence-based. We use assessments and approaches with a solid clinical evidence base, and we explain our reasoning.

  • Strengths-based. Progress is built on what a child can already do, because confidence comes from genuine success, and children stay motivated when they can see their own progress.

  • Client- and family-centred. You know your child best. We keep you informed and equipped with strategies that work at home.

  • Neurodiversity-affirming. We support communication and participation without treating difference as something to be corrected.

  • Trauma-informed. Sessions are built on safety, trust, predictability and the pace of the person in front of us.

  • Collaborative. We're glad to liaise with other therapists involved in your child's care, so everyone is working toward the same goals.

★★★★★
Amazing Speech Therapist – Jess ❤️ I honestly cannot recommend Jess enough! From the very first appointment, she has been so caring, patient, understanding and professional. She has such a beautiful way of connecting with children and making them feel comfortable, safe and confident. Jess has gone above and beyond to support my child, and I have seen such a wonderful difference since working with her. She takes the time to listen, understand individual needs and explain everything clearly. You can genuinely see that she cares about the children she works with and wants the very best for them. As a parent, having someone you can trust and feel comfortable with means so much, and Jess has given us exactly that. We are so grateful for all her hard work, kindness and dedication. Thank you, Jess, for everything you do. You are truly amazing at what you do, and we feel so lucky to have you supporting our family. ❤️ Highly, highly recommend!

I highly recommend Talk & Grow Speech Pathology and especially Jessie. My son has been having speech therapy with Jessie for the past couple of months, and he absolutely enjoys every session. He always looks forward to going and often wants to keep playing and learning even more. Jessie makes learning fun and engaging, which has made such a positive difference for my son. His speech is improving every day, and we are so happy with the progress he has made. She is very caring, patient, and understands exactly what each child needs. We feel completely comfortable trusting her guidance and recommendations because she genuinely cares about the children she works with. We are very grateful to have found Jessie and would highly recommend her to any family looking for a wonderful speech pathologist.

Is there a wait list?

No. We're accepting new clients now, so there's no waiting period. Once you get in touch we call you back within one business day, and the first assessment is usually booked within a week or two, depending on where you are and the days that suit you. If you've been on another practice's wait list, you're welcome to start with us in the meantime.

What ages do you work with?

Children from their first words through to teenagers and young adults. The goals and the way a session runs are matched to age and stage: play-based early intervention for toddlers, school-linked goals for primary and high school students, and practical, respectful sessions for older teens and young adults working on study, work, interviews or independence.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can contact us directly and start straight away, whether you're funded through NDIS, privately, or another way. If a GP, paediatrician, teacher or another therapist has recommended speech pathology, that's helpful context for the first session, but it's not a requirement. The one exception is Medicare rebates, which need a GP referral and Chronic Disease Management Plan (a Medicare-funded referral pathway), and we can talk you through that if it applies to you.

Where do sessions happen?

Wherever the skills are actually needed. Most sessions happen at home, and we also visit schools and childcare centres, plus workplaces for young adults, across Sydney. Telehealth is available anywhere in Australia, with the same clinician and the same goals, and works well for busy families, regional clients and many teenagers. You never have to fit a clinic appointment into your day.

What funding do you accept?

We work with NDIS (plan-managed and self-managed), Medicare (with a current GP referral and Chronic Disease Management Plan), private health insurance and private paying clients. Whichever applies to you, you'll receive an itemised invoice after every session, and we're happy to talk through the options before you commit to anything.

What are your trading hours?

Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 7pm. Early and late slots exist so sessions can fit around school, work and childcare. Calls, WhatsApp messages and form enquiries received outside these hours are answered the next business day.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is an assessment. We start with a conversation about what you've noticed and what you'd like to change, then use evidence-based assessment tools matched to your child's age to get a clear picture of current strengths and needs. You'll receive a plain-language summary of what we found and a set of goals we agree on together. Therapy sessions follow from there, usually weekly or fortnightly.
